Travelling Waves

Emerge, Evolve, Travel, Collapse

A series exploring the stages of waves travelling on the open sea: emergence, unfolding, travel in search for direction and eventual collapse.

The wave’s journey, reduced to this repetitive sequence of stages, is seen as representational of passing experiences and permutations of identities in an individual’s lifetime. Based on observation on the island of Mallorca, waves of differing character are identified and visualised through expressive shapes, colours, spaciousness and textures.
