A series inspired by natural processes observed in the urban environment during a visit to Berlin, Germany in September 2021: autumn starting the process of soil creation, grasses secretly invading the cobblestone grid, a new ecosystem marking its territory against the street.
“Nature rooting in niches that we failed to occupy or where we chose tolerate it? A stroll through the Tiergarten park thinking "nature vs. natural"? Then sitting on a bench looking at people neatly walking along the pavements.” (Berlin, September 2021)
Tiny groups of plants and lone pioneers occupying niches such as the gaps between cobble stones or borders between street and pavement are the protagonists of this series, perhaps captured in an act of revolution in a place where human existence is marked through a grid.
